5 Tips To Unlock Your Club’s Success In 2024
The end of 2023 is right around the corner, and personally, this year has dragged on. Not really, but everyone always says, “I don’t know where the time’s gone’ or “It felt like just yesterday we blah blah blah”, and I just couldn't bring myself to say that. Either way, the end of the year is upon us, and it’s time to start looking ahead to 2024.
So, let’s look at the year to come and how you can start preparing to ensure that your club or association has the best 2024 possible.
1. Increase Your Club’s Prices In 2024
A cost of living crisis is going on right now, and unfortunately, it's unlikely to ease much in the coming year. Almost everyone is raising their prices at the moment, and you should be, too. Nothing too crazy, just a little price bump to keep your club going strong.
Also, don’t worry about your members being unable to afford increased club prices. According to recent Commbank iQ data as reported by the ABC, the cost of living crisis isn’t negatively impacting the older generations the way it is, the younger ones. In fact, people 55 and older are actually spending increasing amounts of money on luxury goods, holidays and hobbies. This means that as long as the majority of your members are in that age range, there’s a very good chance that they will be in a good financial position to afford your increased prices.
I recommend that you outline all the ways that your club or association has improved over 2023 and all the great things you have to offer in 2024 to remind your members how good their membership is and why it is worth the increased price. Also, ensure your members know that the price increase has been carefully considered and calculated, not just a slapdash attempt to get more money. If you do this, you will be able to increase your club’s prices while ensuring that all your members still renew their memberships.
2. Schedule & Clone Your Events For 2024
One great way to get a headstart on the new year is to spend some time in the remaining part of this year setting up and scheduling your events for the coming year. You probably won’t know every event you will host next year, but chances are you'll know enough to start scheduling your events.
With the Member Jungle system, you can schedule events ahead of time and clone previous events, making creating events in bulk a quick and easy process. Cloning an event allows you to copy an existing event and all of its details quickly and then move the cloned event to your preferred date. You can then edit any and all details of the cloned events.
Cloning and editing events is a great way to easily set up all of next year's events in a fraction of the time it would take to make them from scratch.
Remember to double-check all the details of cloned events and any related automatic emails before they go live. You don’t want to include the wrong information in the wrong event or accidentally copy and paste an error into several events.

3. Get ready for the changes to the Australian Privacy Act
If you are not already aware, the Australian government plans to make several changes to the Australian Privacy Act in 2024. The headline of which is that organisations that make less than $3 million a year will no longer be exempt from complying with the Privacy Act.

4. Embrace AI To Help Your Club In 2024
2023 has been a big year for advances in AI technology, and it shows no signs of slowing down in 2024. The good news is that the future of AI is looking a lot more like C-3PO than Terminator, which is always nice.
AI can be an amazingly powerful tool in helping you organise and run your club or association much more efficiently. If you are not already using AI to assist you in running your club, you absolutely should put it on your to-do list for 2024. What it can do, and how it can help you, is only going to get better in the year to come.
Here at Member Jungle, we are working hard to incorporate these advancements in AI into our system, making it even more helpful and time-saving for you. We will be sure to keep you updated on this as it progresses.

5. Reflect On The Past Year For Your Club
One great way to prepare for 2024 is to look back at 2023 and see what worked and what didn’t work for your club. Take advantage of Member Jungle’s data reporting and engagement tracking features to better understand what was and wasn’t popular with your members over the last year. Use the poll module to help gauge members' enjoyment of past events, plus what they would like to see more and less of in the coming year.
By examining what was and wasn’t popular in 2023, you can get a clear picture of what your club needs to keep doing, stop doing and approve upon in the coming year.
Plan For The Future Of Your Club
The world is ever-changing and evolving, and your club should be, too. Planning for the year ahead and how your club can improve and grow into it should absolutely be something on your to-do list.
By carefully planning out what you are going to improve and do in the year to come, you can ensure that your next year is a great one for your club.
