Club Growth Over The 2023/24 Financial Year

Exactly one year ago, I wrote an article for Member Jungle titled How Much Your Club Can Grow With Member Jungle. In the article, I examined the member counts of clubs and associations that used Member Jungle. I compared the number of members they had when they first signed up to the number of members they had at the end of June 2023 and used that to talk about the average membership growth of clubs throughout their time with us.

Well, I thought, seeing as it had been a full year and I have the member counts from the end of June 2024, I would revisit the numbers and see how the year has treated the clubs and associations using Member Jungle. 

For those of you who haven't read the previous article, let me quickly remind you of the highlights

• In their first year using Member Jungle, clubs grew an average of 7%
• In their first year using Member Jungle, the top third grew by 28%
• Overall all time, clubs have increased their member count by 69% while using Member Jungle 
• With the top quarter of clubs increasing their member numbers by 299% over their time with us 

The growth of clubs differs significantly in the first year compared to the following years. While there is a steady 7% growth in the first year, there is a substantial 69% growth over multiple years.

How Much Did Member Jungle Clubs Grow Over The 2023/24 Financial Year?

I’ll be honest: before I looked at the numbers, I was a little dubious about how they would look. It’s no secret that the 2023/2024 financial year has been marred by interest rate increases, inflation, and resultant cutbacks in discretionary spending. However, I was pleasantly surprised. 

Overall, Member Jungle clubs grew by 7.33% in the 2023/34 financial year. This is daily nice, steady growth in any year, but it seems particularly good in a tough year like the one we just had. 

The top half of clubs with Member Jungle grew an average of 28.46% in the 2023/24 financial year. 

The top quarter of clubs with Member Jungle grew an average of 55.31% in the 2023/24 financial year.

In the last 12 months, many clubs using Member Jungle have experienced significant growth. For example, the Mackay Land Rover Club Incorporated, which has been with Member Jungle for only a year, saw a 36% growth, while the Newcastle District Hunting Club Inc., in their fifth year with Member Jungle, experienced a steady 16% growth in membership.
