The Best Club Apps For Clubs And Associations
As I'm sure you've realised by now, a membership management system can be a massive help to your club's daily life. It can streamline operations, save time and money, and provide you with a whole bunch of new ways to connect with your members.
One of membership management systems' most valuable features is mobile apps. These apps can provide you and your members with most of the fantastic membership management features but with the convenience of being on your phone.
What Is A Great Membership App For Your Club?
A truly great membership app will make running your club easier, communication between you and your members easier and more effective, and new avenues for your club to make money. It will also go a long way toward attracting younger members to your club.
When evaluating the usefulness of membership apps, we should look for a few key features. These are the core features that your membership app should have.
These features are:
- Allowing automated membership renewals via the app
- Being able to communicate with your members more effectively via the app
- Allowing access to digital membership cards
- Allow members to view and edit their profiles and information via the app
- The ability to take digital payments via the app
- Being able to sign up for events from the app
- Allow scanning of unique QR codes and barcodes for easy event check-in
These are the key features to look for when evaluating which membership app is best for your club.
Disclaimer
Now, Member Jungle provides a mobile app that provides all of the above features and a lot more. However, one of our philosophies is transparency. To that end, I wanted to have a look at who would be the best alternatives to Member Jungle. That way, you’d be able to weigh up multiple options and choose the one that is best for you, your club, and its needs.
I have come up with two great alternative options to Member Jungle’s mobile app. All these systems are well-respected and trustworthy systems with great mobile apps. So, without any further ado, let’s get to it.
The Best Club & Association Membership Apps
Stack Team App Mobile App
3.8/5 Apple Play Store 3.1/5 Google Play Store
Stack Team App is a free application that provides essential features for managing memberships tailored specifically for sports clubs and teams. It can be used by entire sports leagues, clubs, and even friendly social competitions. The app is specifically designed for sports clubs, and it's tools for communicating with players and organising teams are very good.
Its actual membership management features are a little thin on the ground and basic, but if you are looking for a club app for your sports team, this is probably your winner.
As an app, the Stack Team App offers six of our key features to look out for; as they are not a membership management system, they do not offer automated membership renewals.
They offer several awesome sport-specific features, such as league standings, player profiles, live scores, fixtures, and more. While Stack Team App is designed for sports clubs, it can definitely be used by small hobby clubs that are looking for an app to help them communicate better with their members.
It is worth noting that Team App isn’t a membership system like us at Member Jungle or the other option on this list. Also, Team Apps content can not be locked down to members only, and anyone can join without your approval.
While Stack Team App isn’t a membership management system and maybe a little limiting for some clubs, it is an excellent app with some unique features not offered by anyone else on this list. If you are a sports team looking for a new app to help organise things, this is almost definitely your winner.
For more information about the Stack Team App, check out their Member Features Page.
ClubExpress Mobile App
ClubExpress is an all-in-one membership management system that is easy to use and highly customisable. The ClubExpress app only ticks five of our seven boxes; it does not appear to have digital membership cards, scannable QR codes, or barcodes. There is a chance that they have these features, and I have missed them somehow, but to the best of my knowledge, they do not have QR codes or digital membership cards on their app.
However, despite seemingly not having these features, ClubExpress makes up for it in other areas. The ClubExpress app has a few unique features that the other apps we are looking at don't have. When you sign up, the ClubExpress team will custom-make your own app using their existing app software as a base. Unlike the others on this list whose apps are constantly being developed and improved, there is a good chance that once your ClubExpress app is up and running, it won’t receive the same constant improvements.
While alternatives offer the ability to change the colours and add your club's logo to the app, ClubExpress offers these and several other customisation options, including a custom app icon. Secondly, the ClubExpress app costs $2 per download. If you are in the United States, you can charge your members this price and receive 70 cents for every app purchase. Alternatively, you can choose to make the app free for your members by paying 70 cents per download to ClubExpress. Outside the US, you have to pay for the app yourself.
Note that if you want to change any of the information on the app page, including the app name, download method, or any of the images, a new version of the app must be built and sent to Apple and Google for review and approval. This will incur an additional $100 USD setup fee.
The ClubExpress app also costs a one-time set-up fee of $200 USD. ClubExpress's pricing is calculated based on the number of members you have. Their base cost is $30 per month, and then each member costs extra on top of that. The more members you have, the less they charge per member.
The ClubExpress app lacks a few key features, but it makes up for that with a strong membership management system and a highly customisable app. For more information on what its app can offer, see its Mobile App Page.
Which Membership Mobile App Is Best For Your Club?
It’s worth remembering that ClubExpress’s app is integrated into their all-in-one membership management system, just like Member Jungle’s. So, when reviewing these systems, you should also review the systems as a whole to work out which one is best for you, don’t just look at the app. Bear in mind that Stack Team App doesn’t have a membership management system, so you can only review it as an app.
At the end of the day, the choice between the mobile apps provided by Stack Team App and ClubExpress is a win-win. They are all good-quality systems, and chances are you’ll be golden no matter which way you go. I recommend following the links above to investigate both systems and their apps to help you make an educated decision.
Where To From Here?
As I have mentioned a few times, we at Member Jungle have a mobile app, and we personally think it’s pretty good, so I would encourage you to check that out if you’re interested.
