WIN: A ‘long weekend escape’ for a volunteer

Michael Barwell, CEO of Member Jungle, said the giveaway was a way of saying thank you to our unsung volunteers and to help make membership management easier for the winning person in the year ahead.

“Volunteers are the lifeblood of many Australian clubs and societies. From rotary to rowing clubs, surf-life saving to science societies, many organisations could not survive without volunteering,” said Mr Barwell.

“Often it’s the president or secretary or ‘informal’ volunteers, such as an assistant coach, roster organiser or gallery coordinator, who act as multi-tasking ninjas. The dedication and hundreds of hours many of them spend looking after members is often not realised,” he said.

“We want to say thanks to these people who give so much. The winner will not only receive a well-deserved break, but will also get a Member Jungle system to help give them more time back to do what they’re passionate about or enjoy.”

The prize pack includes a $350 Camplify voucher that can be used for one of 1,600 vans or RVs around Australia, as well as a $150 holiday park voucher.  

The winner will also receive a 12 month Member Jungle club subscription valued at over $1,200. Member Jungle is an online membership management system that acts as a ‘one-stop-shop’ and includes an App for members, website, database, event management, as well as e-news, an online store and more.

Mr Barwell said 86 per cent of Australian organisations that need volunteers are struggling to recruit them due to a lack of flexibility caused by the admin tasks that come with managing a large membership base.

“Technology is revolutionising volunteering. We developed Member Jungle to help streamline and automate admin tasks and get rid of the multiple paper forms and spreadsheets,” said Mr Barwell.

International Volunteers Day is aimed at raising awareness of the invaluable contribution volunteers provide at a local, national and international level.
